Summer Style Segment

Nicole's Summer Style Segment will premier this weekend on June 21st. This is a great segment for anyone looking for tips and tricks for summer dressing. I will also be featuring great places to shop for summer bargains, accessories to look for this summer and the right sunglasses for different face shapes. I will also touch on hot summer hair styles. This segment will have features for men and women. This year's summer segment will also touch on do's and don'ts for the summer and plenty of pictures to visually guide you.  Confession for Summer.....I have fallen in love with mules all over again. These shoes may not be the best for running around town doing errands, but they are the best for looking CUTE! The memories of many shoe trends ago and how I would not be caught outside without my mules seem to continue to run through my mind every time I turn a page of a magazine and see a model wearing mules. This is a new break the bank + indulge in mule shopping. So many styles and so many possibilities for my feet. This Summer will definitely be one full of my favorite slide ins.....mules!  Well loves, off to the mall to explore the possibilities of this new love!!!

Fashion Happy Hour 1 Year Anniversary Event

Recently I had the opportunity to check out Fashion Happy Hour. For those of you who are not familiar with this networking event....it is a place for fashion insiders and lovers to meet and network and is held in Miami Beach. It opens the networking doors for models, bloggers, photographers, designers, musicians, radio personalities, buyers, boutique owners and many more. I was blessed to get tickets to their anniversary fashion show and party. This was an event to die for! The host bloggers (bloggers who have been given the opportunity to style models and present them) were awesome and so talented. I stopped at several pop-ups and enjoyed beautiful clothing and great hand made jewelry. Later this week you will get to see pics of me wearing a lovely pair of earrings I purchased at the event. All I can say is loved the event and will definitely check out another. Below are pictures (please excuse my pics....in true Nicole style, I forgot my camera and had to use my phone). The Maxi Dress

 

 

This Spring I have found myself falling in love with maxi dresses. Not only can they be casual or dressy, they have the tendency to be very comfortable. I have found that whether hot or cold you can make a maxi work. If it is hot, just dress it up with jewelry or a scarf. For colder climates add a little denim jacket or cardigan. The style possibilities are endless, but fun. Also try this lovely trend with flats, heels, sandals, and for my cowgirls....dainty cowboy boots.

 

 

Monday Maven

Today was errand day so I decided to keep the outfit light and free. I thought all white would be a nice look and would be cool for zipping around. I particularly love this top because it allows the back to be breezy and cool. The top is a hi-lo top with a sheer back. The sandals I have to say were so comfortable and the jeans fit like a charm. Casual Sunday

Today was a casual kind of day. My family decided to take a day trip for my dad's birthday. I decided that I wanted to be comfortable and cute at the same time. I chose the following outfit so that I could ride in comfort and enjoy the day in style. The pants are these awesome palazzo pants that I found at Target for $19.99. The shirt is just one of my regular V-neck tees that I like to wear. Check out Target or www.target.com for some good deals and cute styles.

Today's outfit was a perfect fit. I fell in love with it at first sight. One wonderful trend from Spring are neutral and muted colors. They are easy to wear and work well with all akin tones and body shapes. Outfit details.....

So I have decided to take this adventure in fashion a little further and start selling some of the items that you see featured here on the blog. April 2 2014 will be the grand opening for NIKKINICOLE BOUTIQUE on the web. I will also be traveling from city to city as I collaborate with other business owners to bring pop up shopping opportunities to you all. BOYFRIEND JEANS.....

Lately I have been having this crazy obsession with boyfriend jeans. I love how they can go from day to night with the change of a top and shoes. What really makes these jeans wonderful is the fact that they are loose yet fitted so you can move comfortable all day and still have the feminine feel to you and your look. Ladies this is a style that you have to try. I know this is one that I will be wearing for a long time.

 New York Fashion Week will be coming to us soon and I for one will be super excited. From February 6th to February 12th we will get to see the hottest trends for Fall and Winter. Female and male fashions will be trotting down the runway as designers put on shows to give a peek of what the year is to bring. SPRING 2014

 

 

Spring 2014 is around the corner and I am so excited. Fashion for 2014 is all about mixing patterns, enjoying color, and playing with your own personal style. This year we will see a lot of personal style peppered with the hottest trends. The most exciting part is the use of patterns and how well we are seeing designers mix them. My favorite was the polka dots and stripes look created by Christopher Baily for Burberry Prorsum and their Spring 2014 runway show. It really shows how one can be fashionable and fun all at the same time. Lace for women will be big. So will floral designs, cropped tops, and ladylike style. This will also be a year when we will see the British male style invade American male style. Men will venture into more color and fitted clothing. Pants will be ankle length. We will see more white denim on males jeans with tailored blazers. I especially love how men are also showing a love for accessories and playful looks. Like it's predecessors 2014 is showing a love of DENIM, DENIM, AND MORE DENIM. This year denim will be dressy, classy, fun, and casual. Enjoy having fun with your style and creating your own personal trendy looks.

Suits Rule the World......

 

 

As we get ready to end this wonderful year in fashion, I could not watch the year go away without giving tribute to hottest trend for females to come out of 2013.......SUITS! As ladies strutted the streets going to fashion shows, work, dinners, and meetings with friends, we had the privilege to some wonderfully made suits. These suits not only made a statement in every room, they also created a certain confidence within the females that wore them. The suits we saw this year were about more than just "a suit"....they were about making a statement. They were colorful, structured, fitted, and afforded so many options. Suits for 2013 were long pants, ankle pants, shorts, full coverage jackets, and jackets that let a little mystery be revealed. This is a trend that I feel will become more than just a trend.....it will be a fashion lovers closet staple.
