Pocket Squares Continued......

Now that you know how to spice your suit up by adding a pocket square, lets look at the ways of folding the square. Having just a basic rectangular fold is business appropriate and great with an jacket. If you want to be casual and look cool, try mixing it up a little by varying the fold of your pocket square. Below are some cool pictures of different folds that can be used for all pocket squares. There is also a quick tutorial on the two most popular basic folds. Try these out and see what you think. Also remember to explore and play around with your pocket square. Try plaids, stripes, chambray, tipped, bandana, solid, patterned, polka dots, and many many more.

Pocket Square.....The New Male Accessory

With suits being the new thing for men this year, it was only natural that pocket square would become ultra popular. In my fashion hunting over the past couple of weeks and in talking with several well dressed men, I found that the one thing that sets them apart from other males and makes their suits stand out are pocket squares. They are perfect because they can make a suit or even a suit jacket worn casually without jeans look a thousand times better. Another great thing about pocket square is that they allow the wearer to take one or two basic color jackets and use them over and over again without looking over done or over worn. For those males on a budget but dwelling within the realms of needing to suit up daily, this is a great idea. All this week I will be doing a feature on the pocket square for men that are interested in trying this style. To start I have listed "The 6 Pocket Square Commandments."

1. If you blow your nose in it.....leave it in the pants pocket. The pocket scarf is for show, not for blow!
2. Shiny squares are OUT OF STYLE!
3. Whether you spent $180 or $8 on your pocket scarf you can still make it look good.
4. Wear a scarf that mimics a color in your shirt or tie. DO NOT MATCH ALL THREE TOGETHER!
5. Never wear a pocket scarf that makes your breast pocket bulge. Refold or get a smaller one.
6.  It is okay to spend more than two or three minutes in the mirror fixing your square. Practice makes perfect!!

Krazy for Khaki

For the month of April GQ magazine gave us all fashion insight with their "style bible" for all the men who love to look great or are just in need of something new. The did an awesome feature on khaki and for this they teamed up with their own executive stylist, Brett Fahlgren. Brett styled this shoot with the breeze and ease that any man would feel when wearing the new khaki look. This look represents the fun laid back feeling of today's man. I love the freedom it brings men by allowing them to move around freely and still look great. If you have had the chance to grab the April Style Bible, then you have enjoyed this great spread. If you have not, please enjoy the pictures below and let the male in your life be inspired by these looks.

Hot Collaborations for Spring 2013

Breaking News in the fashion world: Supermodel Anja Rubik teamed up with Giuseppe Zanotti to create a great capsule shoe collection. This capsule collection is a mix of super sexy and rock diva. The collection can be found on Net-a-Porter and giuseppezanottidesign.com and range in price from  $1250 to $1750. This is a collection worth checking out!!!

Another great collaboration this Spring that I am just loving is Robert Downey Jr. and GQ Magazine. Robert Downey Jr. is truly the come back kid. Not only does he have tons of great movies under his belt and is the super hero (Iron Man) of one of the hottest action films.....he continues to soar to new heights and gets better looking with each passing year. The May issue of GQ is bound to be one that you will not want to miss. Robert Downey Jr. and the writer for the Avengers, Chris Heath, finally confirm that Mr. Downey is the one and only $50 Million Dollar Iron Man. We also get a sneak peak into Robert Downey's world!

Black and White

A demure black and white look is back for women of all shapes and sizes. Check out this boatneck dome dress by BEBE. It is stylish and of the moment with it's black and white stripes. This is a great find at $169.00

Suits are becoming the hot things for me right now. Not just any suits, but well fitted and tailored suits. Gone are the days when the sleeves come down to your palms and the pants hit the heel of your shoe. The new suits that have been spotted on runways and in books like GQ are sleek and or so classic.
